Cook County Department of Revenue

  • The Cook County Department of Revenue offers tax relief options by application. If an individual or business needs additional time to file and pay
  • Home Rule Taxes, send an email to avenuecompliance@cookcountyil.gov and request an extension.

Illinois Department of Revenue (IDR)

Chicago Small Business Resiliency Loan Fund:

This fund will start with over $100 million
 in targeted low-interest loans to severely impacted small businesses. These loans are
 designed to provide much-needed cash flow relief for neighborhood entrepreneurs.
 Funds are received on a first-come, first-served basis and applications will be accepted beginning March 31.

Illinois Liquor Control Commission (ILCC)

 and more.

Employee Resources

Unemployment information fromIllinois: Departamento de Seguridad de Empleo de Illinois (IDES)

Illinois Unemployment Insurance Update:

An employee who is temporarily laid off because his or her workplace closed due to the coronavirus is eligible for benefits as long as he or she is willing and able to return to work as soon as the workplace reopens. The seven-day waiting period and the requirement that the applicant register for state employment have been waived.

●An employee who leaves work because of concern about the coronavirus or

wants to stay home to care for a child whose school is closed is not eligible

for unemployment coverage unless there is another legally valid reason for leave.

●An employee who is homebound because the employee or family

member has COVID-19 or due to a government required quarantine is

eligible for unemployment insurance but must register with state employment

service and actively seek out work that can be done from home.

Emergency Rental Assistance is available.

The program is designed to enable families to maintain
 housing during the time it takes to regain stability. Applications can be submitted in any of the cities
 six community service centers.

Internal Revenue Service (IRS)

City of Chicago: Temporary Suspension of Debt Collection and Other Relief which includes:
●Relief for small businesses by extending tax payment due dates to April 30 for the following municipal taxes: bottled water tax, cashier’s tax, amusement tax, hotel accommodation tax, restaurant tax, parking tax. Click here to read more.

● Temporary suspension or collection of debts, fines and towing practices up to
 April 30, 2020. The City will also temporarily defer all commercial fine collections, as well as license renewal and late fees for Chicago companies until April 30
